Instructional Coach

As Advanced Solutions for Education, a positive school culture is very important for us to sustain success and professional growth of teachers. For this reason, we are looking for an instructional coach who has experience with teaching young children (K-2nd grade) and who will initiate a coaching program in a recently established charter school with the support of a university educator. The qualifications for instructional coach position include:

-Excellent teaching skills and at least 5 years of successful teaching experience with early elementary grades education (K-2nd grade)
-Need to have flexibility to adjust plans and goals daily to meet the changing needs of teachers.
-Need to be knowledgeable in using Ohio learning standards in teaching
-Need to be knowledgeable in the curriculum of K, 1st, and 2nd grades
-Need to be experienced in data collection, qualitative and quantitative assessment and observation techniques.
-Should be highly skilled at building relationships and have excellent communication skills.
-Need to be ambitious for change in the school and willing to do “whatever it takes” to improve teaching practices.
-Need to be affirmative, humble, and deeply respectful of teachers, but unwilling to rest unless they achieve significant improvements in teaching and learning in the schools.
-Should value collaboration with the principal, university educator, and teachers and promote reflective teaching practices.

The position starts as early as mid-August.

Part- or full-time, independent contractor or full-time employment position.
